To the end user, the user interface is the system...
"Despite its importance, the human-computer interface is one of the most poorly understood aspects of most systems. The success or failure of an interface is determined by complex, subtly interrelated issues. For example, is it responsive or sluggish, forgiving or tolerant of human error, easy or difficult to learn, easy or difficult to use? Even whether or not it is attractive and fun to use can make a significant difference." [1]
A software application is a manifestation of intended "human computer interactions". Its development
is a multidisciplinary process that requires more than just software engineering and programming skills.
