Guidelines
Guidelines? What guidelines?... Guidelines can provide a frame of reference for
your end product, the software application. Following are some guidelines established by several companies for
their own use.
- Here is a comprehensive listing of HCI-related
standards, guidelines, etc.
- Microsoft's User Interface Design Guidelines.
- Microsoft Solutions Framework. MSF is a suite of models, principles,
and guides for building and deploying distributed enterprise systems. The MSF Process Model, versus the MSF Team
Model, may be very appropriate for the Lone Eagle.
- The Guide to Usability for Software Engineers, for a number of platforms.
An excellent resource!
- A little dated, but this shareware book, Task-Center User Interface Design,
A Practical Introduction by Clayton Lewis and John Rieman, contains good information on how to design and test
the usability of your application.
